Canada

In Canada, Lutea™ is not covered as a standard item by private health insurers, and there is no direct equivalent to US-based HSA/FSA eligibility services such as TrueMed.

In some cases, individuals may be able to seek reimbursement outside of traditional insurance, for example:

  • through an employer Health Spending Account (HSA), or
  • via the Medical Expense Tax Credit

This typically requires a prescription from a licensed medical professional recommending Lutea™ for use in the prevention or treatment of a specific medical condition. Claims are assessed case by case under Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) rules, which include a category for electrotherapy devices.

Acceptance and eligibility decisions are made by the CRA or the individual’s benefits provider — not by us.

We recommend checking directly with the CRA or your employer’s benefits provider to confirm what may be accepted under your specific plan.
